Every audio engineer gets excited when it’s time to mix a Surround project. Mixing in Stereo has limitations; all of the sound, whether music or film, has to come from only two speakers. In order for sounds to “live” in the mix we have to equalize each sound so they can be heard. But with Surround mixing we have six speakers to spread out the sound. The Center speaker gets the most workout. With some exceptions, all Dialog is heard from the center speaker.
